LONGSAL Account and Data Deletion

LONGSAL respects your privacy and provides you with the ability to request the deletion of your LONGSAL account and personal data associated with it.

This page explains how you can request deletion of your account, request deletion of specific personal data without deleting your account, and what may happen to certain information that LONGSAL is legally required or otherwise permitted to retain.

1. How to request deletion of your LONGSAL account

You may request deletion of your LONGSAL account at any time.

You can submit your request:

  • through the account deletion functionality available within the LONGSAL application, where available; or
  • by contacting LONGSAL at [email protected].

When submitting a request by email, please use the email address associated with your LONGSAL account where possible. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request in order to protect your personal information from unauthorized deletion requests.

2. What happens when your account is deleted

Following a verified account deletion request, LONGSAL will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account where such data is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected.

Depending on the services you have used, this may include:

  • account and profile information;
  • questionnaire information;
  • health and lifestyle information provided by you;
  • uploaded health-related documents and files;
  • test results and associated information stored by LONGSAL;
  • recommendations and personalization data;
  • supplement, nutrition and lifestyle information associated with your profile;
  • information generated through your use of LONGSAL services; and
  • other personal data linked to your LONGSAL account.

Deletion of your LONGSAL account may result in permanent loss of access to your information, reports, recommendations and other content available through your account.

3. Requesting deletion of specific data without deleting your account

You may also request deletion of certain personal data without deleting your entire LONGSAL account.

For example, where applicable, you may request deletion of particular uploaded documents, health information, questionnaire information or other information associated with your account.

You can submit such a request through functionality provided within the LONGSAL application, where available, or by contacting [email protected].

Some information may need to be retained where LONGSAL has a legal obligation or another lawful basis to retain it.

4. Data that may be retained

Deletion of your account does not necessarily mean that every record relating to your use of LONGSAL services can be deleted immediately.

LONGSAL may retain certain information where retention is necessary, for example:

  • to comply with applicable legal, accounting or tax obligations;
  • to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • to prevent fraud, misuse or security incidents;
  • to maintain records of consent or withdrawal of consent where required; or
  • where another lawful basis under applicable data protection law permits or requires retention.

Where information must be retained, access will be restricted as appropriate and the information will not be retained longer than necessary for the applicable purpose.

Certain information may also remain temporarily in secure backup systems until it is deleted or overwritten in accordance with LONGSAL's backup and retention procedures.

5. Data processed by service providers or partners

Some LONGSAL services may involve authorized service providers, laboratories or other partners that process personal data in connection with the service provided to you.

Where applicable, LONGSAL will take appropriate steps in relation to deletion requests in accordance with applicable data protection law and the respective responsibilities of LONGSAL and the relevant service provider or partner.

A request to delete your LONGSAL account does not necessarily result in the deletion of information independently controlled by another organization where that organization has its own legal basis or obligation to retain the information.

6. Processing your request

We aim to process verified deletion requests without undue delay and within the time limits required by applicable data protection law.

In certain circumstances, we may need additional information to verify your identity or determine which information your request relates to.

If we are legally required or permitted to retain certain information, we will inform you where appropriate.
